Takalana Bay Eco-Lodge is located in the Tailevu Province, approximately 35km northwest of Korovou town and a 1hr 30min drive from Suva airport in Nausori. It is a very popular weekend retreat for Suva based residents, especially expatriat families and diplomats, as well as ecotourists . However, its main attraction is the dolphin watching at the nearby ‘Moon Reef’. The Eco-Lodge is part of an 85 acre estate, nestled on top of a hill providing a panoramic view of the Lomaiviti islands of Ovalau, Wakaya and Naigani, and includes an extensive pristine beach, a pine forest, native bushlands, mountains and manicured flower gardens. Modern Fijian ‘bure’ style accommodation with fully equipped kitchen and ensuites, provides for a maximum of 10 people. The bures have been architecturally designed for ultimate comfort and privacy, with spectacular views of the ocean to one side and the mountains to the other, enveloped in a forest.
Guided ecotours include dolphin watching at ‘Moon Reef’, forest trekking to the waterfall or the mountain tops, mangrove forest kayaking and scuba diving.
